Wild Wild West Casino Atlantic City

Arsenii Anderson

Wild Wild West AC has been a go-to destination on the AC Boardwalk since 1997, and despite its transformation from a casino into a nightlife destination, guests are still loving the space where Atlantic City meets the Lonestar State.

This page will cover what you can expect to find at Wild Wild West, as well as the history of the establishment and a timeline of its transformation over the past two decades, so buckle up, cowboy!

The Current State of Wild Wild West Casino

The easiest way to look at Wild Wild West today is an entertainment-focused venue that is physically attached to Caesars and Bally’s. The property is owned by the parent company behind Caesars and is now being marketed as the nightlife hub of Caesars Atlantic City, with multiple live music venues and bars. Wild Wild West also won the Best Sports Bar and Best Guys’ Night Out in the 2020 Atlantic City Nightlife Awards.

The casino doesn’t currently have a great deal of casino games, with just a few low-limit tables left behind as an ode to the casino’s previous position as one of the many places to play on the AC Boardwalk. That said, recent Wild Wild West casino reviews still paint the spot in a good light.

Casino Gaming at Wild Wild West

In a transition that began over 10 years ago, Wild Wild West Casino Atlantic City has been removing casino games from various sections of the venue. Today, so few casino games remain that the establishment is no longer called a casino. In fact, these days it’s hard to find mention of the Wild Wild West Casino, as Caesars has done an excellent job of removing any relation to the word casino from the venue.

Wild Wild West may now be considered one of the cheap casinos in Atlantic City, with low minimums on the few table games that remain at the venue. With that, players looking for exciting casino-centric experiences would be better served heading to the adjoining Bally’s or Caesars casinos, which are connected from the inside.

Sportsbook

Despite its lack of casino gambling, Wild Wild West is home to the Caesars Sportsbook, offering fans over 15,000 square feet of gambling space, including private rooms that can hold up to 24 people.

Wild Wild West Entertainment, Food and Beverages

Wild Wild West Atlantic City has been coined by Caesars Casino AC as their nightlife hub, where guests can unwind and party in three venues, with good food and drink, live performances, and arcade-style video games. Here’s the scoop on activities:

Places to Drink

There are three places to wet your whistle at Wild Wild West. Guests can enjoy a range of frozen drinks, craft beers, and other beverages at the Boardwalk Saloon. The Mountain Bar serves up $4 drafts and shots, open Friday and Saturday. The Deck, an establishment centered around two DJ decks, is also open Friday and Saturday.

Where to Eat

When it comes to grabbing a bite to eat, your only option at Wild Wild West is the AC Snack Shack, which serves up easy finger food, such as burgers, tacos, hot dogs, and nachos. Wild Wild West is also home to Guy Fieri’s BBQ Joint, smoking delicious BBQ sold by the pound, although, as of February 2024 the eatery is temporarily closed and it’s currently unclear as to whether the spot will reopen.

Live Music

Wild Wild West plays host to live music every Friday and Saturday, as well as the odd weekday, making for a decent entertainment calendar. Live music performances are typically held at the Mountain Bar and The Deck.

Arcade Games at Buck Wild Arcade

Although many casino games, including all Wild Wild West slots, have now been removed, the venue does have a wide selection of arcade-style games for guests to enjoy 24/7. The arcade area, found at the Buck Wild Arcade, features the world’s largest Pacman game and other classic-era video games, beer pong, and a selection of low-limit table casino games.

Wild Wild West Casino Timeline

Wild Wild West has an interesting history, being used as an extension of Ballys, and later as an extension of Caesars. The establishment has transformed from being a casino in its own right to doing away with pretty much all casino games, despite its prime location on the boardwalk. Here’s how the last 25 years looked:

July 1997

The Wild Wild West Casino AC originally opened as the second casino at Bally’s on July 2, 1997.

June 2012

Renovations to the casino began in June 2012. In addition, for a short period, all live tables and the majority of slot machines were removed. Not all casino games would make their way back to the casino floor.

February 2014

Renovations on the casino were completed in February, with a reduction in the size of the casino floor and the permanent closure of the Virginia City Buffet. A World Series of Poker room was added, alongside a new stage for live entertainment.

November 2020

Twin River Worldwide Holdings, now known as Bally’s Corp, purchased Bally’s Atlantic City from Vici, the group that owns Caesars. Wild Wild West Casino was excluded from the deal and became a more integral part of the Caesars brand, which shifted focus heavily towards entertainment over gambling.
