How We Came Up With Our Casino Rankings

The following Vegas casino reviews have been curated using reviews across TripAdvisor, Yelp, Hotels.com, and Google, with an average of each determining the casino’s rank. The Hotels.com score has been halved from X/10 to X/5 to be in line with the other reviews; this doesn’t affect the scoring.

While the rankings on this page don’t specifically determine the gambling scene of the casinos themselves, they do paint a strong overall picture of the experience you are likely to receive at a particular location. We have included real written reviews by actual patrons to allow for even more context, and perhaps a touch of humor.

We are not affiliated with any casino on this list, so you can be sure the reviews below are as unbiased as they come.

The Five Best Strip and Downtown Vegas Casinos According to You

To kick off our list, we will start with the five best casinos in Vegas as ranked by their average reviews across multiple trusted review sites. These hotel casinos have consistently impressed guests with their fantastic amenities, superb service, and overall luxury. Let’s find out why these are among the best casinos Las Vegas has to offer.

Wynn Las Vegas is one of the most famous casinos in Las Vegas and sits as an icon of luxury on the Strip, with award-winning dining, entertainment, retail amenities, and a staggering 2,716 five-star hotel. Guests across our pick of review sites have left Wynn with a humbling 4.4 out of 5.

Zedar Review Wynn Las Vegas

The casino at Wynn Las Vegas, spread across two huge floors, is home to more than 1,800 slots, and a variety of table games including roulette and blackjack. The massive 28-table poker room plays host to daily tournaments plus a range of bigger events throughout the year.

Zedar from Google describes the casino as the definition of elegance – we would agree. With gorgeous decor and ample spacing between games, you won’t ever feel like the casino floor is too overcrowded.

Wynn Las Vegas Review

The vocal minority of 1-star reviews found issues with noise from the club, with Lindsay from Google exclaiming that the noise traveled as far as the 27th floor of the hotel. There were also a number of mentions of bad customer service at times; these were relatively few in comparison to 5-star scores, though.

Wynn Las Vegas is awaiting those searching for maximum contemporary luxury right on The Strip. Mary K from TripAdvisor sums it up perfectly: ‘As much as a destination, it is an unforgettable experience. Everything is top tier, first class, and beautiful.’

πŸ₯ˆ The Palazzo at The Venetian Resort Las Vegas – 4.375 Average

The Palazzo serves as a reminder of Italian opulence and elegance, standing at a whopping 642 feet tall, and proudly claiming the title of the tallest hotel in Las Vegas. The hotel’s marble-clad decor, and incredible range of restaurants, pools, and spas have resonated well with guests, who have scored the destination at an average of 4.38 out of 5, putting it a hair behind first place.

Palazzo Review TripAdvisor

Gaming at Venetian Resorts is fantastic. The two hotels each have their own casino, and the buildings are connected and are but a short walk from each other. Together, the Venetian Resorts casinos have probably the largest variety of slots and around 200,000 square feet of gaming space in total. As Tammy put it on one Google review: The Palazzo has a really nice casino with a ton of variety – literally something for everyone. For high rollers, The Palazzo has a 15,000-square-foot space that has been designated as a high-limit area and is occupied by just 67 of the latest high-denomination slot machines, meaning you can play in peace and comfort, away from the crowds.

Service is what you expect at a five-star hotel, and one guest from Minnesota from TripAdvisor commented ‘exceptional service from the time you check in to the time you leave.’ Overall, The Palazzo At The Venetian Resort Las Vegas is perfect for those who are looking for opulence and luxury at every turn and are prepared to pay for it.

The second of two wonderful Venetian Resort properties on this list, but this time the original, which has around 10 years on its sister hotel listed above. Again, following the theme of high-end Italian decor and pure luxury, The Venetian is packed with world-class dining, spas, and entertainment. Guests at the Venetian can also access facilities at the neighboring Palazzo hotel, and the buildings are physically connected.

Karyn The Venetian Review TripAdvisor

When it comes to gaming, The Venetian has its own casino floor, chock full of the latest slot cabinets as well as player favorites such as 88 Fortunes and Heidi’s Bier Haus. Across the two connected casinos at The Venetian Resorts, players have over 1,000 slots to choose from across a 200,000-square-foot gaming arena. It’s a ‘very first class casino,’ wrote one Vegas local on Yelp.

When it comes to five-star service, the staff at the Venetian has you covered. Karyn, commenting on TripAdvisor, noted that ‘the hotel staff was friendly and helpful when we needed assistance, and we did not hear a peep at night once in our room,’ adding that she received ‘top-notch service and beautiful accommodation.’

The Venetian experience was summed up perfectly by one Expedia guest, who said ‘The shopping was amazing and the selection of restaurants was second to none. The casino had a wide variety of table games and the newest slot machines.’ No wonder The Venetian and its sister hotel The Palazzo have both ranked consistently high in Vegas, boasting a 4.375 out of 5 on our rating.

Encore at Wynn Las Vegas, another sibling in the Wynn family, maintains the brand’s signature luxury while offering its own distinctive flair. Encore at Wynn offers modern contemporary decor that wouldn’t be out of place in any major city around the world.

The hotel has a massive 2,034 suites available to guests, which measure on average 745 square feet, slightly larger than those typically available at Wynn. Encore guests can use all pools, including the pool at Wynn, while those staying at Wynn cannot use the Encore pool.

Guests looking to make the most of their gambling experience will have a clean, elegant casino waiting for them, although it is a little smaller in size than the one at Wynn. Remember, you can always make a short 10-minute walk to Wynn’s casino if you prefer that.

Encore Google Review

That said, many guests rave about the Encore casino, such as Ngoc Pham who said it’s ‘one of the most beautiful casinos in the world’, and Briana Rice who commented that it was her favorite new casino.

To get an average rating of 4.35 out of 5, a casino hotel has to get things right all the time. Michele left a Google Review saying ‘excellent service and cleanliness,’ a sentiment echoed by a large number of other reviewers. Kevin Sugiki gave Encore the crown, with his review stating: ‘Best service in the world. All the amenities are also the best in the world.’

Taking the fifth and final spot in our top Las Vegas casino rankings, The Cosmopolitan, one of the MGM-owned casinos in Las Vegas, is a classic Vegas-esque venue that screams fancy. With 2,995 rooms, many of which come with balconies or terraces sporting fantastic views of the Strip or the Bellagio Fountains, this is the place to be for those looking for a truly high-end stay. Guests at the Cosmo have ranked it as the fifth best place to stay on our list, with a noteworthy average of 4.23 out of 5.

The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas Yelp Review

In the mood to party? The 60,000 square-foot Marquee Nightclub & Dayclub has you covered, boasting a rooftop patio overlooking The Strip with music from world-renowned DJs.

There are also several bars and lounges, and even a barbershop where you can enjoy a cocktail. ‘The barbershop is like a day spa for men, definitely check that out,’ suggests Steve in a Google Review.

Those looking to get their Vegas on can do so in The Cosmopolitans 100,000 square-foot casino, which houses around 1,300 slots with denominations from a penny to $500, a range of table games, including craps, baccarat, and poker, and a large sportsbook. The casino also hosts a number of lucrative tournaments, including slots, baccarat, blackjack, and poker events.

Emily from Chicago wrote on TripAdvisor, ‘I would 100% come back again. Aaaaamazing stay!’ while April from Arkansas captured the essence of the destination wonderfully with her review: β€œAmbiance. Location. Tons of restaurants. This is the best casino and hotel on the strip.”

The Worst Vegas Casinos According to You

Now to turn things on their head, here are the five worst casinos in Vegas according to genuine reviews left by guests on trusted review sites. Indeed worthy of their ranking, the Las Vegas casinos ranked below have had customers complain about everything from grotty carpets to bed bugs. Let’s get into the gritty details.

πŸ‘Ž Silver Sevens Hotel & Casino – 3.2 Average

Set just a few minutes off of the Strip and the first location on this list to not be right among the action, Silver Sevens Hotel & Casino has a modern-contemporary decor that is somewhat of a far cry away from the hotels above, but then again, so is the price. Rooms here start at just $20 a night, and with a casino, three eateries, live entertainment, and a massive pool on your doorstep, that’s not bad for a 3.2 our of 5 ranking.

Speaking of the casino, players will find over 400 slots in addition to table games such as roulette, craps, blackjack, and video poker. There’s quite enough for the resort, but it’s not much by Vegas standards. Gena commented on a Google Review that the casino was ‘decent, but far nice casinos near by’

Silver Seven Yelp Review

Santana B, a visitor local to Vegas, shared on Yelp: “It was quaint and clean. It was definitely a place to sleep but I wouldn’t spend my time here gambling or socializing.” That would probably sum up most opinions on this place, and after all, you don’t need to stay in the fancier hotels to enjoy the multitude of other Vegas casinos.

Several reviewers mentioned safety. One Yelp reviewer from Arizona advised potential guests with the following warning: “Run… don’t walk! Sketchy people hanging around the outside of this place and inside wasn’t much better.”

πŸ‘Ž Circus Circus Las Vegas – 3.175 Average

Circus Circus comes in fourth place of the worst Vegas casinos ranked in this article. According to guest reviews, the resort scored an average of 3.18 out of 5, despite being a place with a lot going on.

Circus Circus TripAdvisor Review

The Circus Circus amenities seem pretty exciting at first glance, sporting a mini water park, a gaming arcade, and, of course, free circus acts. Despite not having typical high-end Vegas amenities, Yelp reviewer Sue noted that ‘the building and facilities were satisfactory for the prices we paid,’ a sentiment that aligns with the relatively inexpensive room rates.

The gaming experience at Circus Circus is spread across three casinos, with over 1,200 slots in denominations from a penny up to $25, and over 30 table games spread over 120,000 square feet. That said, the whole place may be in need of renovation. On TripAdvisor, Emily described Circus Circus as having “nasty rooms and a horrible, run down casino.”

Numerous guests expressed dissatisfaction regarding the cleanliness of the rooms and outdoor areas. A particularly concerning review was left by Brook on Expedia, stating “Broken beer bottles in my room found glass all over the floor very unsafe for my 2 year old son.”

πŸ‘Ž The STRAT Hotel, Casino & Tower – 3.1 Average

Year Opened1996
Websitehttps://thestrat.com/

With a paltry Vegas average of just 3.1 out of 5, the STRAT comes in joint second-to-last place on our list. Despite its modern look and the awesome STRAT Tower, which is the largest freestanding observation tower in the US, guests just don’t find it as appealing as other locations.

Strat TripAdvisor Review

Entertainment on offer includes shows featuring live music and comedy, mind reading, and Rouge, which STRAT claims is the sexiest show in Vegas – something which Alexis from Cali agrees with, commenting on Yelp that Rouge is ‘definitely a very very sexy show.’ When it comes to the casino, the odds are you’ll like it. Lucas left a Google Review saying it was the highlight of his stay. A notion many other reviewers echoed. In terms of numbers, there are over 750 machines and 42 tables with all the usual Vegas staples. The casino is, however, only open from 8 AM till Midnight.

While there are no stand-out features that make the STRAT come off as terrible, it seems most guests just didn’t think the rates, which aren’t exactly the cheapest in Vegas, were worth it. Speaking of which, an alarming number of guests claimed they were overcharged at times. For example, Amanda’s room was given away and then she was ‘charged extra for an upgrade,’ something that seems to happen often. Yikes!

πŸ‘Ž OYO Hotel & Casino Las Vegas – 3.1 Average

Another abysmally-scoring Vegas spot is the OYO Hotel & Casino, situated about a 30-minute walk from the Strip. Scoring an average of just 3.1 out of 5 in guest reviews across a number of sites, OYO is doing something wrong, despite its prices being similar to other budget-friendly on-Strip destinations, such as Flamingo.

OYO Casino Yelp Review

OYO kept it familiar with their choice of eateries, which include Steak ‘N Shake and even a Hooters. Live entertainment can be found in the Underground Lounge, and the pool is home to pool parties, games, and, of course, swimming.

The 30,000-square-foot casino is tiny in comparison to some of the legendary casinos in Las Vegas, but it serves its purpose with a selection of slots, blackjack, roulette, craps, and even a sportsbook. There are, however, many comments about how the casino was run-down and dirty, and as Jami from Orlando put it, ‘You can tell that this casino/hotel is waiting to be closed.’

Unfortunately, when asked about whether it’s a good stay, one Redditor commented: “No, and even the Hooters there sucks…” There are also a shocking number of reviews complaining about bed bugs or suspected bed bugs, while Anthony from LA mentioned in his Yelp review that the state of the bathrooms makes you want to rethink if you want to take a shower at times. Stay safe!

πŸ‘Ž Mardi Gras Hotel and Casino – 2.85 Average

Websitehttps://mardigraslasvegas.com/

Coming in dead last as the worst casino in Vegas by a decent margin, Mardi Gras Hotel and Casino garnered a shocking average rating of just 2.85 across thousands of genuine guest reviews. The hotel’s website seems more like a guidebook for activities in Vegas rather than showing off the hotel, perhaps because there wasn’t much to brag about. Michael from Yelp explained how there weren’t even basic room amenities such as coffee.

Mardi Gras Las Vegas TripAdvisor Review

Mardi Gras has one restaurant that has an affordable menu, with the majority of the few positive reviews seemingly coming from the kitchen. There is also one small jacuzzi and a pool. Guests who hadn’t already set out to a better location would also find a coin laundry on the second floor of the hotel.

The 24/7 casino, if you can call it that, features just 50 slot machine machines, with no dealers for table games in sight. Carole expressed her dissatisfaction on TripAdvisor, stating, “The casino is more like a doss house for the down and outs of Vegas. I wouldn’t even consider using the toilets in the casino area as dirty and full of undesirable people.”

Jeanette from TripAdvisor regaled us with a tale of how she found the floor of her room covered in food scraps, along with a dirty fridge and bathroom. Many other guests also experienced Jeanette’s fate. Take your crown as the ‘Worst Vegas Casino’ Mardi Gras, you’ve earned it.
